CBC Fortune Hunters

Daniel So will appear on the hit CBC television show "Fortune Hunters" on CBC Newsworld.  Fortune Hunters is hosted by Dianne Buckner, the award-winning host of CBC's Venture and the Dragon's Den. 

Daniel's appearance on Fortune Hunters will air on February 23, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. EST and 11:30 p.m. EST, and again on February 24, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. EST and 4:30 p.m. ESTon CBC Newsworld.  Daniel will appear on the expert panel with Mac Voisin, founder of the M&M Meat Shops franchise. 

2008 Franchise Law Symposium, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Daniel So will be a panelist at the 2008 Franchise Law Symposium to be held at the Manitoba Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 15, 2008.  The Franchise Law Symposium, the first of its kind to be held in Manitoba, is sponsored by the Marcel A. Desautels Centre for Private Enterprise and the Law, and the Asper Chair of International Business and Trade Law. 

Daniel's esteemed co-panelists are John Sotos and Ken Pattenden, president of the Taco Time franchise system, and Chairman of the Board of the Canadian Franchise Association. 

Ontario Bar Association Joint Sub-Committee on Franchising

Daniel So has been invited to join the joint sub-committee on Franchising of the Ontario Bar Association.  This committee is charged with the organization of continuing legal education of the lawyer-members of the Ontario Bar Association, and is responsible for liaising between lawyers and franchise-specific lawyers in the province of Ontario, and the Ontario Bar Association.

7th Annual Franchise Law Conference

Daniel So will be speaking at the 7th Annual Franchise Law Conference held by the Ontario Bar Association held at Toronto, Ontario on November 15, 2007. 

Daniel's speaking topic will deal with the multitude of legal issues raised in franchise renewals and franchise resales.  Daniel's co-presenter is H. Ross Bain, in-house counsel and vice-president of the Prime Restaurant Group, which includes such restaurant concepts as East Side Mario's, Casey's, Fionn MacCool's, and the Bier Markt Esplanade.

Canadian Franchise Association Legal Day

Daniel has been selected to co-present at the opening plenary session of the CFA's 2007 Legal Day, to be held at the Old Mill on March 7, 2007. 

Daniel's opening plenary session will focus on the legislative and judicial updates of the past year affecting franchisors and franchisees across Canada, and in Ontario in particular.
